No, no, don't kick our Franco-Austrian team out of the Proud Albion! What we mean by this slightly provocative title is that we'll be presenting hot topics in the field of combustion at this year's Turbomachinery Conference, which is being held at London's Excel Conference Centre, overlooking the River Thames.
And we might as well freeze the Thames! We'll start with a topic on advanced thermal management for an on-board cryogenic fuel system as part of the LIQORNE (Liquid hydrogen for airborne application) project.
We'll then move on to a topic of burners produced using additive manufacturing methods, a technology that CBOne has specialised in since 2017. With the crystAIr project (Artificial intelligence and sensing-driven combustor), we will show how a burner with high instrumentation density provides a real-time indication of the combustion state, reconstructed using artificial intelligence.
This conference will also be an opportunity for us to discuss our recent progress in combustion technology (recursive sequential combustion works) and hydrogen combustion.
Friends of the UK! Dear Great Creative Nation (there are the Beatles and so many others, but for me, it's above all Supertramp that I treasure so dearly), dear Great Britain that welcomed me so warmly as an ERASMUS student last century, recent history has separated us. But when it comes to combustion research, our message is clear: let's rebuild bridges! Let's work together again! Count us in!
British friends, get your roasties and baked beans ready and your kettle on: we're coming! Earl Grey for me, my Dear.
