10% less fuel consumption versus conventional for the disposal of gases with low heat value. This was the main result of the MethaNull study presented at the ASME Turbo Expo 2015!

Fuel economy, clean energy - MethaNull

With the help of the FFG in 2012 and of the AWS in 2013, CBOne started the MethaNull programme (Towards zero Methane emissions in the atmosphere). This technology aims to burn gases with low heat contents under enhanced operation and safety conditions.

Our intention was to provide within a 3-years frame a portable technology based on pulse combustion.

We did achieve our goals.

Variable geometry burner for an extended combustion range (ASME Turbo Expo 2012)

The motivation is to produce a flame with extended combustion range compared to conventional, with the possibility to optimise the ratio between thermal power and gaseous emissions. As an alternative to staged combustion, variable geometry offers in theory the advantage of a much more compact burner. We assessed this technology.

The results were presented at the ASME Turbo Expo 2012 in Copenhagen.
